- Senior/Prospect Development Analyst
Description
The (Senior) Prospect Development Analyst is a member of the team within University Advancement that provides data-driven insights supporting prospect identification, fundraiser portfolio construction, relationship management, and overall prospecting strategies. The (Senior) Prospect Development Analyst will join a team of professionals who bring diverse skills and experience in both prospect research and management to deliver best-in-class internal consulting across the entire advancement organization.
Primary duties:
- Utilize data to enhance prospect discovery efforts and prioritize donors for qualification by development staff.
- Create reports and/or visualizations to track donor activity, fundraiser metrics, and refine internal processes.
- Foster a process-oriented mindset on the Prospect Development team, which may include documenting business procedures, centralizing resources, and increasing efficiency.
- Assist with initiatives related to data quality and auditing.
- Create ad-hoc lists and deliverables for individuals/teams across the organization that inform strategy.
- Collaborate with development officers and other stakeholders to understand goals and present data-informed recommendations.
- Monitor a variety of research sources, including websites, government documents, newspapers, databases, wealth screenings, and leads from development officers.
- Evaluate philanthropic capacity of prospective donors.
Hiring Range: Salary commensurate with relevant experience:
Prospect Development Analyst level 1 (1-3 years’ experience): $59,400 - $74,250
Prospect Development Analyst level 2 (3-5 years’ experience): $65,550- $81,950
Senior Prospect Development Analyst (5+ years’ experience): $72,450 - $90,600
Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of related professional experience for the first-level Analyst; 3-5 years of related professional experience for the second-level Analyst; or 5+ years of related professional experience for the Senior level. An understanding of databases, along with the ability to analyze and present data, is critical. Experience with SQL is preferred but not required. Proficiency with statistical programming languages/software, data visualization tools, advanced Excel, and/or experience with either Blackbaud CRM or Evertrue is a plus. Education and experience equivalencies will be considered.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and project management skills are required. A sense of curiosity, self-motivation, and a team-oriented approach are also key prerequisites. This position involves work with highly confidential information where complete discretion is required.
