Description
Are you seeking a new challenge where your knack for research and skills in developing data-driven strategies will shine? Dartmouth Advancement is searching for a Prospect Research Analyst to join our Research and Prospect Management team in a role where you’ll be at the heart of driving innovative data-mining efforts that contribute to Dartmouth’s fundraising successes. An opportunity to sharpen your research and writing superpowers, you’ll drive prospect data-mining efforts, develop and manage prospect portfolios, manage prospect management reports, and develop strategy briefings that make a real impact. Your official title will be Strategic Analyst, which represents the important teamwork you will be sharing with gift officers to navigate the strategy and intricacies of the solicitation cycle. A key player on our mighty development team, you’ll work side-by-side with fundraisers, identify high-potential prospects and help develop smart strategies that bring our prospects to a yes.
Here in Dartmouth Advancement, innovation and people are at the heart of our success. Our Research and Prospect Management team is pushing boundaries with cutting-edge research methods and fresh approaches to keep our work exciting and impactful. We like to have fun and do great work while helping to set the stage for our fundraisers to find success.
As our new partner, here’s what we hope you will bring to our work:
- A bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in development (or a similar field), or equivalent work experience.
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex business and financial data.
- Proven project management expertise and the ability to juggle multiple priorities like a pro.
- Strong oral and written communication skills that help you stand out, and a knack for using sound judgment to get results.
- Experience in prospect or biographical research, business analysis, or financial research is a plus!
- An enthusiasm for our work. Our mission in Dartmouth Advancement is exciting, and our work transforms the lives of our students and enhances the student experience. The work feels good, and it feels better when it’s shared with people that are energized by the immeasurable impact our collective divisional work makes.
Our technology toolkit currently includes Microsoft Office, Advance, Slack, and Jira. Through a full onboarding plan created specifically for you in your new role, we will provide training in Advance, Slack and Jira if you join us without prior experience in these software applications. We do ask that you do join us with a strong understanding of components of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), as the ability to work with information, data sets, reporting, create presentations, and manage various projects will complement team workflows.
A fully remote option with location flexibility is available for those that reside in most areas of the United States. This position can also offer a hybrid option (the best of both worlds!) and the opportunity to experience the energy of Dartmouth’s campus in Hanover, NH. The choice is yours.
